Estes 2196 SpaceShipOne Model Rocket Kit Description:
Experience the thrill of flying a super-sized replica of the
SpaceShipOne, the Ansari X PRIZE winner! This Estes SpaceShipOne E
powered giant is fun to build and even more exciting to fly. The
full-size rocket was designed by Burt Rutan of Scaled Composites and
funded by Paul Allen of Vulcan Inc. This is the first privately funded,
manned spacecraft to reach outer space. Now it's your turn to be a
space entrepreneur!
This Skill Level 3 rocket is a 1/15th scale rocket that has many
preformed parts and an authentic decal set. When completed, the rocket
stands 26 inches long (66 cm) and has a wingspan of 12.8 inches (32.5
cm). This highly detailed model not only replicates the unique design
of the full size winner, but also mimics its performance. When flown
with our powerful E engines, this ultra large scale model can blast
over 600 feet (1183 m) into the air and is recovered on a huge, 18 inch
(46 cm), nylon preassembled parachute. Join the new space revolution
and fly an authentic, scale replica of the $10 million winner of the
Ansari X PRIZE!
Estes engines are required and sold separately. Building tools,
finishing supplies, Estes E Launch controller and E Launch Pad required
- sold separately. Recommended for ages 18 and up with adult
