Estes Launch Equipment

When it comes to launching model rockets it is a bit more difficult than just throwing a rocket engine into the rocket and pressing "launch". The first step is choosing which skill level rocket you will use, then the rocket must be built. Some rockets come Ready to Fly while others may take up to a week to build. There is additional equipment that is required to make a model rocket launch successfully.

Launch equipment is vital for making a rocket fly high and straight. Estes model rockets provide the best launch equipment every rocketeer will need to having a successful launch. Here is a list of items you will need to making your rocket the best it can be.

Launch Controller - Lets face it, igniting a rocket engine is going to be a bit tough with no launch controller. The launch controller makes igniting the motors safe by allowing the rockeeter to be about 15 feet away. The controller features a safety key that is switched to the ?ON? position when ready to fire. The launch controller requires four ?AA? alkaline batteries.

Launch Pad - The launch pads available from Estes include a blast deflector, two piece launch rod, safety cap and key. The launch pad deflector shields the earth from the blast of the rocket engine, while the launch rod ensures the rocket will fly straight up, in a safe manner.

Model Rocket Ignitors - Iginitors will light the model rocket engine's propellant causing the rocket to create thrust. Ignitors come six to a pack, but it is always recommended the rocketeer have a few extra on hand.

Once you have your rocket built and ready for launch it is vital you make sure you have the above products to make sure your rocket launches. Many of the launch equipment pieces can be used over and over and are able to be launched with a number of different Estes rockets.
